HÖRMANN Rawema Engineering & Consulting GmbH is a company of the HÖRMANN Group, which comprises more than 30 subsidiaries.
As an innovative, manufacturer-neutral factory planner, we specialize in the provision of specialist technical planning in the industrial sector with a focus on general planning from start-ups to established companies.
What is your role in the HÖRMANN Group?
I have been Managing Director at HÖRMANN Rawema Engineering & Consulting GmbH for two years and lead a team of 35 engineers at the Chemnitz site.
What are the challenges at HÖRMANN Rawema?
When we plan factories and production systems, we always have to create a model and an abstraction of the whole, because we can't just move a building or five walls, but we always have to imagine & abstract what the factory of the future could look like. To do this, we use a wide variety of tools, for example clamping blocks and of course digital tools, to create virtual and imaginary references to help us build factories and better understand the underlying processes and optimize them for the customer.
Or quite simply explained: we break down the complexity into small, manageable questions and then put everything together to create a holistic, optimal plan.
What is particularly important to you for your team?
From my perspective, teamwork is a big point. It's important to me that we tackle problems together and focus on finding solutions for the customer every day and that we think outside the box and combine existing technologies to develop successful solutions.
What is HÖRMANN's superpower?
I think that HÖRMANN's superpower is having good employees who achieve the best for the customer and are always at the forefront.
- It is very important that we show employees their potential, i.e. also their development potential, so that they can realize their potential within the scope of their skills and opportunities and expand their know-how.
- We also give employees the status and appreciation that they ultimately deserve, because they are the components that enable us to work successfully.
- And last but not least, that we also create an environment in which a team can grow together and not everyone fights for themselves, because the problems and solutions we need today can only be solved together: as a team and in interdisciplinary work.
We talk about a problem for ten minutes and then talk about the solution for two hours. Pushing the problems back and forth doesn't help us, we have to work on the solutions. HÖRMANN is often only visible at second glance because it is simply hidden in many of our everyday products. And I would like our products and services to be seen even more, because we are simply a very strong group.
HÖRMANN is visible, for example, in truck components or through HÖRMANN sirens. Or when you walk past factories that were planned by HÖRMANN Rawema, for example, or constructed and realized by HÖRMANN Bauplan. You travel with HÖRMANN every day when you sit on a train or streetcar that is controlled by HÖRMANN. You are guided by HÖRMANN products, for example, and supported in finding your way by camera systems. From my perspective, HÖRMANN is commonplace, but not so present.
Why do people love HÖRMANN?
People love HÖRMANN because we create adequate working conditions for our employees, which is also reflected in kununu's Top Employers 2024, where our efforts bear fruit and we receive good ratings.
This is the only way we can improve. That's why we need feedback and are happy when employees and the team give us feedback.What is your favorite hobby?
My favorite hobby is actually my work. I enjoy going to work every day and it makes me happy. Of course, I also have a part-time job or a main job, if you like. And that is being a father of four children.
What is your superhero movie?
The best superhero movie for me is Deadpool, according to the motto: Everything will be okay in the end and if it's not okay, it's not the end.
