STUDENTS
I always wanted to work in the automotive industry.
Moritz Racke is firmly integrated into operations at HÖRMANN Automotive Gustavsburg. The dual mechatronics student is involved in projects and has gained a lot of experience. One highlight is his involvement in a new type of development for a component: the team is currently in the process of designing a new type of prototype tool and testing whether it can be used in industry.
"I'm doing what's known as a cooperative engineering degree and was the first dual student in a few years. You had to get to grips with the processes yourself. Now there are more students again, which I think is good. The combination of training and study convinced me from the very beginning. I've always been a practical person and I think it's good that you can put what you learn at university into practice in the company. This dovetailing helped me a lot.
What you also shouldn't neglect are the insights you gain from working in the company: Being integrated, knowing who I can turn to if I have questions, getting to know the processes - that was very important to me. You don't get to experience this interpersonal aspect at all during your studies. I think there's no substitute for that and it's completely different to studying 'normally'. I will soon have finished my studies and would like to stay. I like it here and I've always wanted to work in the automotive industry."
