Funkwerk AG develops helpful information systems for people with disabilities.
Accessible information systems are extremely helpful for people with disabilities. Funkwerk AG has developed TSI-PRM-compliant information steles for this purpose, which are installed at Luxembourg Central Station, for example. These are consistently barrier-free. The information system offers a haptic button labeled in Braille as a control element for people with impaired vision. When the button is pressed, a TTS (text-to-speech) engine generates an audio file that reads out the currently displayed data. The voice used is agreed with the customer.
Wheelchair users and passengers of small stature, for whom text is difficult to read at a greater height, can scroll the information at eye level by pressing the button with the wheelchair symbol.
