HÖRMANN Services acquires SAV GmbH’s Automation business unit
HÖRMANN Automationsservice GmbH, a company of HÖRMANN Group based in Salzgitter, has acquired the Automation business unit, located in the town of Mittweida and employing 11 people, from SAV GmbH. ‘We held talks about an acquisition last year and have now negotiated the final takeover criteria and signed the contract for the asset deal,’ said Lothar Becker, managing director of HÖRMANN Automationsservice. The Automation business unit now represents another central German site for the Services division of HÖRMANN Group, with retroactive effect as of 1 January 2021. ‘We’re thrilled to be working with our new colleagues,’ said site manager Andreas Walter
Everything from a single supplier
‘The portfolio of our Services division, which now includes what was previously the Automation business unit of SAV in Mittweida, is aligned to the life cycles of automated manufacturing facilities, from product to process and from the start to the end of production,’ explained Becker. He added, ‘With electrical, mechanical, control, robot, welding and conveyor technology, pneumatic and hydraulic systems as well as industrial and lean engineering methods, our roughly 200 highly skilled employees have all the key know-how they need and provide compelling evidence of that fact every day.’ The three operational companies of the division – HÖRMANN Automationsservice GmbH, HÖRMANN Industrieservice GmbH and MAT Maschinentechnik GmbH – are specialists in their fields. HÖRMANN Services GmbH forms a synergistic link between them and manages the agile network with all partners.
HÖRMANN Services depends on interconnected collaboration between specialists within the entire HÖRMANN Group and on external partners, allowing it to deliver everything from a single supplier. In this respect, the field of automation is rapidly gaining significance. The acquisition of the Automation business unit from SAV GmbH is an important and systematic step in the process of expanding these activities.
